About Dédomè...
Dédomè is a small village on the northeast edge of Lac Ahème in southern Benin. Founded by Queen Nan Dèdo, who migrated from Tado in the 14th century. One of the earliest Adja settlements in Benin, the village has safegaurded their storytelling traditions over centuries.
Ruins of researcher Sophia Hounton's ancestral family compound in Dédomè, featuring Françoise Hounton (2026).
